I was very excited yesterday morning when I woke up to snow on the ground! I love the first snowfall of the season. It snowed just enough to lightly cover the ground and most of it melted by 11:00 a.m. or so.
However, this morning is a different story. We have 2-3 inches on the ground and it doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. It started snowing pretty hard yesterday evening, and it must have continued to do so off and on throughout the night. I think it is very pretty. I probably have this positive attitude towards the snow only because I am able to stay inside, all snuggly and warm. In fact, Wilson is curled up in my lap as we speak. He is the best cuddler! He is not a fan of the snow. When I let him outside yesterday morning, he charged out of the door full speed ahead, only to stop suddenly as soon as he realized he was standing in the snow. He has a very funny walk when he is in snow. He walks very slowly and picks his paws up as high as he can. I don't see how that helps, but he does it every time!

Elk Steak
I tried elk meat for the first time last night. Jeremy shot an elk a few weeks ago with his bow. He was proud, as it was the first animal he's killed with a bow. Last night he cooked some for me. Brownie points to Jeremy for making me dinner! Actually, he took me out to lunch yesterday too, which was very nice. (He did both things all on his own, without any prompting from me.....hmm.....he must want something.) Anyway, as I taught a voice lesson last night, he got started on dinner. We had elk steak, baked potatoes and salad. He was nervous for us to try his elk. I was a little nervous as well because I've never eaten game meat and I didn't know what to expect. However, it ended up tasting really good! If I didn't know it was elk, I would not have been able to tell a difference between it and cow. It might have even been a little better. There was a slight difference in texture- for the better. It was not tough at all! It wasn't as juicy as some other steaks I've had, but overall it was great! I would definitely eat it again. Which, is a good thing since we have a freezer in our garage FULL of elk meat! Come on over for dinner!
